Leather Care

CARE OF WOOD & OTHER HARD SURFACES

When you purchase fine furniture you have made an investment in a piece of art. Hours of care, artistry, and craftsmanship were dedicated to bring it to life. Your furniture deserves the best of care so that your investment is as beautiful 20 years from now as it was the day you brought it home.

Leather Care

CARE OF WOOD SURFACES:

Immediately clean spills or smudges by blotting with a soft, clean cloth to avoid scratches. Frequently dust exposed surfaces with a clean, soft, natural cloth that is damp with water. When cleaning, always wipe in the same direction as the wood grain and use a soft, dry cloth to dry the wood surface when finished. All dust is abrasive, so never forcefully wipe off dust! Polish your furniture with a non-silicone base furniture polish made by a reputable manufacturer. Follow instructions and make sure to dust immediately before polishing. Remember to always use a soft, natural cloth. If surface damage occurs, please contact our customer service department for recommendations.

Direct sunlight and extreme changes in temparature can cause deterioration of the original finish over time. Try to keep your valuable furniture items shielded from daily sun exposure and in a reasonably controlled atmosphere.

Decorative hardware can be cared for in the same manner as wood surfaces. Do not use metal cleaners on any hardware.

CARE OF MARBLE, GRANITE & OTHER STONE SURFACES:

Using a soft cloth, clean stone surfaces with a mild liquid dishwashing detergent and warm water. Too much soap may leave a film and cause streaks. Rinse thoroughly after washing and dry with a soft cloth. Do not use products containing lemon, vinegar, or other acids. Do not use scouring powders or creams; these products may scratch the surface.

CARE OF LUCITE™ :

Wipe acrylic surfaces with a soft, moist cloth on a daily basis. Do not use abrasives or cleaners with alcohol or ammonia, as they can dull the finish. Acrylic is soft and easy to polish; most soft metal polishes (brass, aluminum) will remove scratches. Do not use paper towels to clean acrylic, because they will scratch the surface. Instead, use a soft, moist cloth or Polish Mates by Novus™. To clean and polish acrylic, we recommend two products by Novus™ : Novus #1, which cleans new acrylics and helps resist fogging, repel dust, eliminate static, and gives acrylics a lustrous shine; and Novus #2, which is designed to remove fine scratches, haziness, and abrasions from most plastics.
