A Victorian sofa with a tufted back and seat. Scrolled arms with carved borders. Turned feet with a cap detail. Nail head trim standard on leather. The original resides at Chatsworth - the home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire - itself widely hailed as one of the seven treasure houses in all of England. The Chatsworth Sofa has an openly English silhouette that works in both period and contemporary settings. Striking in finishes that contrast with the cover. Circa 1880.
