Cate Heck is an interior designer at Sheffield whose background as a trained artist influences her unique ability to imbue each design project she completes with it’s own playful uniqueness. Like all of Sheffield’s designers, Cate believes that the best and most important part of the design process is getting to know her customers and ultimately providing them with a living space that reflects their lifestyle and personal taste.
A mother of four energetic children, Cate joines us at Sheffield after successfully owning and operating her interior design firm, Partiche Designs, for the past 15 years. The primary focus of her business was on high-end residential design, collaborating closely with clients, architects and builders to achieve a shared vision for beautiful living spaces. A secondary facet of her business included styling and merchandising model homes for several national builders.
Cate was recently honored as one of only a few designers invited to participate in Design for a Cause; A cancer research benefit at the Marketplace Design Center in Philadelphia. She is also the recipient of several model home merchandising awards as well as fine art awards from juried shows. In 2003, Carte was a featured designer in The Hunt Magazine.
In her free time, Cate enjoys drawing design inspiration from many different sources including travel, photography and nature. She believes that good design can be simple or complex but never static and should consist of many layers. As in nature, Cate explains, “the beauty of a home lies in the details.”
Cate describes the designing of a home as “a process that should be fun and in the end what matters most is the clients happiness and ability to enjoy the space they envisioned surrounded by their family and friends.”
