Biography:

Rita has been a practicing interior designer for over 25 years in the metropolitan Washington, D.C. area. Having been born and raised in the one time furniture capital of the world, Grand Rapids, Michigan, she began her career by attending the University of Maryland in College Park and received a degree in Interior Design. She has worked in many arenas of the design world including model homes, contract/small business and residential. Projects that she is most proud of include an historical home in Annapolis, Maryland; a townhouse on the 18th hole of Avenel Country Club, Potomac, Maryland; and a horse farm property in Montgomery County Maryland. Rita joined Sheffield Furniture and Interiors in October 2006.

Rita’s approach to design is simple: to provide her client with a completed project that fits hand to glove. Carefully listening to client needs and requirements is the first and foremost priority. She enjoys all disciplines of interior design including contemporary, traditional and eclectic styles. Not only is Rita interested in seeing the ideal furniture placement and function of the room, but also the final details of window treatment, accessorizing, greenery and artwork placement.

Rita currently resides in the foothills of the Catoctin Mountain Range in Frederick County Maryland.
