DESIGNER PORTFOLIO

Michelle D. Harmon
Interior Designer

571-323-6000

Biography:

Michelle has a Bachelor of Science degree in Interior Design from North Dakota State University with 32 years experience in residential interiors (of which the past 20 years combined have been with the former Danker Furniture – presently Sheffield Furniture and Interiors).

Having grown up in a military family, the opportunity to travel extensively throughout the world, seeing many countries and cultures, each with their own unique styles, is probably what inspired her to study interior design.

After college, Michelle moved to the Washington, DC metropolitan area and worked for such companies as W & J Sloane, as well as design studios.  While employed at these firms, she was selected as part of the design team to work on the National Symphony Orchestra’s Annual Decorator Showhouse.
In her spare time, Michelle enjoys traveling, antiquing, wine tastings and spending time with friends and family. She keeps active with the newest addition to her household, a recently acquired six year old French bulldog, Henri.

Design Philosophy

“To be surrounded by beauty and comfort at home in these hectic and stressful times, it is relaxing to come home to a place of respite.  Whether your style is formal or casual, you enjoy entertaining or solitude, your “home style” should reflect your personality. My success in creating a client’s dream home can be attributed to the close partnership involving both designer and client to help them achieve a unique, customized interior with style, comfort, and timeless appeal.  Throughout the years of the designing process, many friendships have been cultivated.”

Personal Style

“My personal style is definitely “eclectic” – a mixture of styles incorporating contemporary with antiques, combining art from world travels along with personal collections, creating a special environment.”
