Summer has just begun, but designers plan well in advance of the changing seasons which is why Pantone has released their Fashion Color Report for Fall 2013.  Officially debuted on the first day of fashion week back in February, the report features the top ten colors for next season’s men’s and women’s fashions as well as designer sketches and industry insights.

Historically, there has been lag time of several years between when fashions debut on the runway to when their influence is seen in interior design.  Recently however, we’ve seen this lag time decrease and in some cases disappear.  Editor in Chief of Fashion + Decor, Gretchen Aubuchon, largely attributes this to the active social media network that operates around the design community.  Designers, both fashion and interior, get an inside look through blogs and social media networks at the up-and-coming trends and this helps educate next season’s designs.  This is the reason why your emerald green jacket matches so well with your new emerald green ottoman!

All the best,
